New collective bargaining agreement for the Luxembourg contract catering sector

In press release dated 12 April 2024, FEDIL Catering announced the signing of the first sectoral collective bargaining agreement for contract catering companies.

This new collective bargaining agreement will take effect on 1st May 2024 and has been concluded for a 3-period, i.e. until 30 April 2027.

In amongst other things, the agreement sets out the following provisions:

  • Linear salary increases: 0.8% per month from 1st January 2025 and 0.7% per month from 1st January 2026 for employees earning a gross monthly salary between the minimum social wage for unskilled workers and the minimum social wage for skilled workers;

 

  • An adjustment of salaries for those between the minimum social wage for unskilled workers and the minimum social wage for skilled workers when the minimum social wage for unskilled workers is adjusted by the Luxembourg government;

 

  • 1 additional day's leave for employees with 10 years' uninterrupted service;

 

  • The possibility of an annual reference period for working time for employees working in organisations that are affected by the Luxembourg school holidays;

 

  • Free meals from the time employees take up their duties;

 

  • 70% extra pay for Sunday work and 100% extra pay for public holidays;

 

  • Rules governing the transfer of employees’ employment contracts.
